I love sharing in the precious moments in patients lives ...they are teachable moments we can share in the lives of our patients. If it were not...

A Small Loving Gesture

Another great photo from Heart of Hospice: This Christmas, we gave each patient a teddy bear.

This patient told us that "It was such a nice gift for her to receive." She told me she had her daughter put the teddy bear by her bed so that she could get to it when she wanted it. She never had a teddy bear as a kid because her family was too poor; it took 94 years for her to receive her first teddy bear.  She always wanted a bear and appreciated the gift very much!!!

It was a reminder to us how much a small loving gesture can reach out and touch lives in ways we are often unaware of.
